King Of Talk Boy Abunda got emotional while talking about the ABS-CBN’s franchise

Boy Abunda got emotional on the recent episode of his ABS-CBN program “Tonight with Boy Abunda.”

He opened up about his thoughts on the possible closure of ABS-CBN due to the government’s refusal to renew their franchise.

“Noon, pag tinatanong po ako ng nanay ko tuwing napapabalita po ang problema ng prangkisa ng ABS-CBN, I have worked here for over 20 years, sinasabi ng nanay ‘Sana huwag ipasara ang ABS-CBN kasi pag wala ka sa bahay ito ang kasama ko. Alam ko nariyan ka.’ I know this not legal. I know this is not official. This is very personal para sa aking ina pag nakikita niya ang ABS-CBN, alam niyang safe ako, nandiyan ako. Nagta-trabaho ako at uuwi ako sa kanya. Maraming salamat po.” Abunda stated.

Boy was visibly emotional while talking about the issue because it is very personal for him.

“Wala hong ginawang masama ang ABS-CBN, ilalaban ho natin ito nang maayos. We’ll continue to do what is right,” he added.

On Monday, February 10, Solicitor General Jose Calida filed a quo warranto petition in the Supreme Court based on the alleged violations on the franchise of ABS-CBN Corporation and its subsidiary, ABS-CBN Convergence.

Boy Abunda also discussed the appeal on a live TWBA episode aired on the same day. He mentioned about the official statement released by ABS-CBN, quoted, “We did not violate the law. This case appears to be an attempt to deprive Filipinos of the services of ABS-CBN”.

ABS-CBN and its artists believed that the network has not violated any law. They have accordingly “complied with all pertinent laws governing its franchise and has secured all necessary government and regulatory approvals for its business operations”.

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has always been vocal about his persistence to shut down the network.
