Netizens says that Regine Velasquez Brought Bad luck to Kapamilya Network

Music icon Regine Velasquez on Tuesday joined the chorus of support for ABS-CBN amid challenges to its franchise renewal, reflecting on the implications of its broadcast closure not only on Filipino entertainment but on the livelihood of thousands of employees.

On Instagram, Velasquez shared a screenshot of her recent performance on “ASAP Natin ‘To,” ABS-CBN’s long-running Sunday musical variety show.

In its caption, she began by mentioning a wide array of performers and artists identified with the network: the likes of Sarah Geronimo, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, Vice Ganda, and other mainstays of “ASAP Natin ‘To.”

She all mentioned this strengthening her reasons why the network franchise renewal shouldn’t be canceled.

She even brought up ABS-CBN’s legacy of news and public service, as well as citizens’ right to information and freedom to choose their sources of entertainment.

“Higit sa lahat wala ng BALITA at importanting impormasyon tayong mapapanood. Alam kong sasabihin nyo meron pa namang ibang networks tama kayo and akin lang naman diba parang tinanggalan tayo ng kalayaang pumili ng gusto natin mapanood?? she wrote.

Amid this, some netizens see her post as positive but some others commented negatively about this.

Some netizens wrote in the comments section that the main reason for the closure is because the Kapamilya network did not pay its taxes properly.

She responded to those allegations by saying that if the problem involved tax, then the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) would have been the one to file charges.

She added that tax evasion was never mentioned when Solicitor General Jose Calida filed a quo warranto petition at the Supreme Court against the network.

Some even say that Regine brought a bit of bad luck since she transferred to the Kapamilya network.

Do you even think it is true?
