Angel Locsin admits that she didn’t renew her contract from ABS-CBN for this year due to wedding preparations

Actress Angel Locsin rallied behind and hailed employees of media giant ABS-CBN as it faces challenges on its franchise renewal.

Angel on Wednesday took to Instagram to pay tribute and express support to all the workers behind the scenes following the filing of a petition by the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) to void the network’s franchise due to “abusive practices.”

She also admitted in the post that she did not renew her contract with the Kapamilya network this year.

According to the actress, she decided not to renew her ABS-CBN contract because she is busy this year planning her wedding with her fiancé Neil Arce.

However, she said that she still considers the network as her family despite not renewing with them this year.

“Sa ilang taon ko po sa ABS-CBN, nakilala at minahal ko ang mga tao dito. I have listened and known their stories — kung anong mga pinag-iipunan nila, magkano pa ang utang, sino ang nagkasakit… lahat pinagpapaguran para po sa pamilya nila.

“I may have not renewed my contract with ABS since I’m preparing for my wedding, but these men will always be my family and I will stand by them. Mahal ko sila at hindi po ito drama kundi kung sino po ang mas magdurusa sa sitwasyong ito,” Angel revealed.

She pleads “Think before you click” mentioning all the persons behind aside from artists like her such as the cameramen, utility, art department, technical department, production, actors, directors, caterers, producers, lightmen, crew, tents, and many more.

Angel is referring to the reported 11,000 employees who might be displaced should ABS-CBN fails to renew its franchise, which is set to expire on March 30.

Angel concluded her post with hashtag #NoToABSCBNShutDown.
