Remember Bearwin Meily, the actor-comedian? He looks a lot different now.
Bearwin made his mark as a chubby funny guy. However, in 2011, when he weighed 199 pounds at just 5’7,” he realized that he needed to shape up.
In a viral photo uploaded on his Facebook page, Meily showed the product of years of undergoing strenuous workouts and lifting weights.
“You must make a choice to take a chance or your life will never change,” he captioned his photo.
According to GMA Entertainment, Bearwin decided to lose weight when his father passed away in 2008 due to emphysema.
This motivated the comedian to stop smoking and excessive drinking.
He also started to jog twice a day and work out.
Bearwin stopped going to late-night parties so that he could sleep early, as well as eating more nutritious meals.
Due to his dedication, his 39-inch waistline dropped to 32 inches, while his 2XL shirt size moved down to large.
He turned marathoner shared his uplifting voyage to trim down his weight.
Bearwin had joked that showbiz had made him fat. He had jokingly said
“You see, I came from a poor family and we hardly ate three square meals a day. When I joined showbiz and started making money, I tried to catch up by eating and eating, (it’s like I wanted to catch up), and that’s how I gained weight. Showbiz is fattening.”
Meily skyrocketed his career in 1995 when he worked for the sitcom “Palibhasa Lalake” with Joey Marquez, Richard Gomez, John Estrada, and John Lloyd Cruz. After directors discovered his talent in comedy, he chipped in at GMA 7’s longtime gag show “Bubble Gang” and “Kool Ka Lang” with Ramon Revilla and Ruffa Mae Quinto. He was also remembered for his magic tricks at “NAKS (Nakakabilib at Kakaibang Show)”
